The End of the World Meme

IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD
The Rapture has occurred, and those select few who have been saved have already ascended. You now remain abandoned, awaiting the the inevitable destruction of the rest of the world. Will it end in fire, or will it end in ice--or perhaps an inexplicable zombie infestation? Who knows, anything is possible, the only thing that is certain is that you only have so much time left.
What will you do?

An open meme! Anyone can join, and feel free to set up your own scenarios on just how the apocalypse comes, or when during it your characters are to be found.

Actually being on the planet when it ended would make things...significantly different. As in, significantly suckier.
Said suckiness grew when it became apparent that the recent rainstorms weren't going to let up anytime soon. As much as she hated rain, however, and though she could not swim she had attempted to leave her home with a single direction in mind: Equius' hive. She needed to get to him, to know if he was still around, to make sure he was okay but it didn't take long before the waters began to rise and she had to escape to the roof of an abandoned hive along the way.
She shivered and drew her coat nearer, looking down from the roof to see signs of any other person, or something that she might be able to use as a boat to continue her journey. It probably wouldn't be long before not even this place was safe.]

Some trolls, after all, were STRONG swimmers.
Despite that, Equius had to take a break every now and then - swimming was not really his area of expertise. Fortuitously, he chose the roof that Nepeta was standing on even without seeing her clearly. He climbed on, taking a few deep breaths before looking over and noticing her for the first time.]
Nepeta!

Equius!! I was so worried!
no subject
I'm glad to see you safe, as well. [He didn't mention how temporary this safety seemed. He wasn't afraid. Not in front of her, because that would only make her afraid, and he couldn't have that.]

I was just going to your hive but then the water started to get too high. [Rather problematic for someone as small as Nepeta. Not to mention ew water]
Do you know if our other furriends are okay? My tablet fell in the water and I haven't been able to get in contact with anyone.

...The other land-dwellers are having the same problems that we are facing.

But then again, maybe she should focus on herself and Equius. She finally let go of him and looked out at their surroundings]
...what do you think we should do?
no subject
[How long was it going to rain? How long until they could return to their homes and live normal lives again?]
no subject
That would be easier said than done]
Purrhaps there are some tools in this hive? Or something else we can use? [Most of it was underwater by now, but at the very least they wouldn't need to worry about the current as much.]

O-ok but you better come back, okay?
no subject
[With that - just go in, find something useful, and get out, don't worry Nepeta more than he has to - he took a deep breath and dove into the water.
There wasn't a lot in the hive that the water hadn't washed away, but some things wouldn't move without his strength. Soon enough, he came back carrying - a bathtub.] This won't float, will it.
no subject
Mm, no I don't think so. We can try and see though? It wouldn't hurt! [she eyed the bathtub dubiously]

[as long as they made sure not too much rain got inside, they should be able to manage!] Wow, lucky fur us, huh.

There are some mountains....
[she frowned and squinted against the rain, slowly turning around the roof, trying to make out their silhouette]
There! It purrabably wont be safe fur long, but maybe if we can get there we can hunt something down and forage food? I bet all the animals have gone to the very top in order to escape the flood!

Then I'll keep the water out of the tub!
[She very carefully steps in, sure not to tip it and uses her hands to scoop out the rain fall]
no subject
This will work.
no subject
It's that way! [she indicated with her tail, not wanting to let even a little water build up in the tub]
no subject
Light conversation to keep her spirits up.] You made it further than I expected. Have you been getting stronger?
