[Five years, six months and eighteen days. A long time, and yet to actually believe it was over was difficult. Rise was trying hard not to think too much on it. She was ashamed to admit that she had been dreading this day for a long time, despite how she continued to work towards it--she had simply met too many people she had grown close to for it to be considered a happy occasion for her.
Life was life, it continued, and now it was time for all of them to return home. She should at least try to content herself with the fact that she had met them all--that she had met Matt.
Even if she would never see him again.
Rise closed her eyes as the countdown began, unsure of what to expect. When it reached one she felt a strange, uncomfortable sensation in her stomach that went as soon as it had come. Her eyes shot open and she nearly tumbled to the ground but caught herself before she did. She was now in what looked like a very cozy room. Definitely not the Kishin Chamber, but definitely no place she knew.
Stranger yet was Matt was by her side. She blinked a bit--what was going on?]
Matty?

Not only that but...things might be a bit difficult for the team. She came from a point where they hadn't defeated Adachi...but they could do it. She was sure of this.
And she had Matt. That counted for so much. So much]

After some time passes he'll speak up a bit.]
I should make tea.

[in an attempt to lighten the mood] And maybe I could make something for us to eat [alas, the same could not be said for her cooking]

There might be some steak sauce in the fridge for Alfred but that's about it.]
Mm. I-If you'd like I could show you around. Since this is the first time you've ever visited my house.

[She holds one of his arms with both hands, very lightly resting her head against it and nods]
I'd like that.

It's not much to look at bu--AAIIIE [and this is matt tripping over a suspicious ball of white fluff and fur in his pathway.]

This is...Kumajiro? [blink blink, awww!]
no subject
Who?
[Matt's eyes well up in tears again and he glomps his bear.]
KUMAJIROOOOOO~~ [BAAAAW]
no subject
Aww~ and family reunites.

C-Ca-Na-Da you...[skjdla cling. He'll stand up, taking the bear with him and hold him in his arms. Aww don't they look like they just fit?]

She reaches for his head, petting him a little behind the ears]
He's so cute!
no subject
Who?
[Oh wait petting is cool.]
[Matt is beaming meanwhile and will offer him to her.]

Aww [nuzzles into his fur x3] Hi Kuma~ I'm Rise!

[But first! Time to start making the tea.]

There's something a bitch strange about the resonance--if she could even still call it that, that she got from Matt now. It was still as stronger as ever, perhaps even more so, but something was definitely different.
She's remembering those voices, and the possibility of BREW acting on their wish to never be apart]
Hey Matty? About those voices...
[she continues playing with Kuma, not taking her eyes off them]
no subject
... They're the same voices that I hear, I think.
no subject
So that means I'm also Canada now? Can there be more than one person as a country?

[Pauses thoughtful, somber.]
If...you are- I mean. If ...did you ...get any information along with the voices? Strange facts you didn't know before?
no subject
[Bit of information--populace, demographics, geography, history--she has to close her mind off to them all as they start to come in quickly. She shakes her head, to clear it, then nods. All the information she got was somehow related to]
Ontario. I suddenly know a lot about it.

A province.
[Pauses to consider this.] It's where we are now.
The home of my capital. My heart.

Ottawa.
[Funnily enough, this is easier to deal with than the idea of not returning home. If she really is here for good, she'd rather it be as a part of Canada. One of the few good things she had thought about being separated from Matt was that at the very least he would remember her young, energetic and healthy. At the very least this way, he wouldn't have to watch her grow old, and eventually die]
Do you think it was because of BREW? Or maybe because we've resonated?
no subject
I'm not sure. Maybe a little of both.
