he's been at this ever since diluc paid him any attention. they've exchanged their usual light barbs, but he hasn't been too annoying just yet. mostly. probably.

diluc was always painfully aware of his presence, even though he would act otherwise, but he refused to make a fuss of it, not wanting to hear the other man. HOWEVER the hole in the back of his head was growing in size and so was his headache.]

[ he's not stupid, he knows kaeya will refuse that and ANYTHING ELSE diluc throws his way. he keeps his back turned to captain.]

[ toe of his boot tapping against the front of the bar, as he sways his foot back and forth, kaeya smiles pleasantly at diluc's back. for as much as he knows that he can't see it, he's sure that he can still feel it there. and the fact that he's, you know, not going anywhere, at least not yet. ]
Perhaps you'll indulge me with one more drink for the road instead?

he sighs, setting down the glass in his hand. ]
Last call was an hour ago, Sir Kaeya. I'm afraid you will have to wait until tomorrow night. Now, if you'll excuse me.
[ it's at this point that he moves around and out from behind the bar, heading to the door of the tavern and locking it. And turning to face the calvary captain.]

anyways, with a sigh, he knocks the tankard back for the remnants before getting up and going to clean it himself. he is, after all, nothing if not a wonderful regular, and diluc has already made it clear that he'll not be getting any refills. and is done for the night.
he wouldn't dare make any of the other staff members do the work after hours. no, he's just interested in diluc after hours. ]

[ real smooth Diluc, real smooth...there was no way Kaeya was going to just simply leave, especially now that he had fucked up.

[ diluc was doing the thing he does, where he isn't telling kaeya NO, but he also isn't inviting him in.
ALSO he isn't stupid, he knows kaeya isn't drunk, but he'll still use that as an excuse. ]

kaeya moves to spin a chair near the door around, rikering the thing and settling in to watch him. this is a familiar seat, when he's wanted to be near diluc but the two of them have been particularly... frosty to one another. and, just like that, he stretches his long, long legs out and crosses them at the ankle, arms folding just at his chest. ]
Then I will stay here, on my utmost best behavior. I'll touch nary a thing. [ he will make his tits look great tho so there's that ]

he looked down at the rag in his hand. ]

[ SMACK the rag went flying across the room and connected with the calvary captain's face. diluc, now with his arms crossed and staring directly at the other, raised a brow.]
You misunderstand, Sir Kaeya. If you intend to stay, you too will be helping clean up.
Now, you can start with the tables in front and work your way back.

kaeya, to his credit, does not flinch when the rag hits him in the face. could he probably have moved? oh, certainly - he's one of the fastest knights around. but diluc was, once, too, and it's not as if the dark night himself has been retired. ]
... hah! [ it's mimicked back, and he slides the rag off his face, brushing the back of his other hand against where the damp cloth left behind whatever gross nonsense has been wiped up and soaked in. ] My, Master Diluc. You could have simply asked - how could a humble knight ever say no to a charmer like you?
[ remember when you used to be cute? he doesn't complain, and instead rubs the cloth against the table he's seated at. :slight_smile: ]

I will remember to be more clear, next time. [ he wanted to call kaeya stupid, but he knew better than that. although what he just said could get him in a lot of trouble, "next time"???? FOOLISH.
realizing his mistake he quickly turned around and went back to collecting glasses, taking them back to the bar. all the while screaming at himself.]

...which is to say! they're at a nice, quaint riverside. who knows what circumstances led to diluc and flayn being at the water's edge together, but they're here now; she's watching the water carefully, looking for fish, while he actually does the responsible thing and deals with the fishing equipment.
(assuming he brought that. assuming they're not just going to catch fish with their bare hands. it would be pretty funny if they were, though.)

There do seem to be a great many of them, just underneath the surface... I can hardly wait to see how many you catch!

finally able to set down the equipment, he sighed and took in their surroundings, eyes finding the spot she was currently fixed at.]
You might be better suited for catching the majority, it has been a long time since I've fished.
[ Diluc could recall, on one hand, how many times his father had taken him fishing. And even then...he wasn't GREAT at it. but planned on doing his best, for Flayn. ]

[she, meanwhile, will linger nearby and watch him fish, which is not at all admirable. well, she'll probably do a little fishing herself, but the truth is she'll let him do the bulk of it. she's used to sitting and watching while other people cast their line - there's something almost relaxing about it.
she smiles encouragingly.]
