[ Cute... cute but ridiculous. He snorts but lifts a hand off the bed in mimicry of a wave. If he gets to wake up every day for the rest of his life to this kind of thing, maybe mornings aren't so bad.
Dating made mornings easier. Marriage is a whole new thing that he's looking forward to. ]
[ Slowly, finally, sitting up when he turns to finish brushing his teeth - which is also nice to look at, for a different reason - Shouto tries to comb his fingers through the mess that is his bedhead.
But he looks up at him when he hears his voice, blinking with more clarity now.
And then he hefts himself out of bed, stretching his arms above his head as he goes. ]
[ As he comes in to grab his own toothbrush, Shouto leans over and presses a kiss to the curve of his shoulder. He had to learn what it meant to be affectionate later in life than most people - or, more precisely, learn that it was something you could be - but once he did...
He gave it his all, with Izuku. Now he has many more reasons to do it, years of dating culminating in this. ]
[The kiss makes him shiver, but he's still fussing with the faucets.
Once Shouto's brushing his teeth, Izuku's kissing the nape of his neck. Affection comes more easily to him, he's no stranger to it, considering his upbringing. And he's glad for it, both of them trying this, learning just how well they click together as a team, as partners on the job and simply in life.]
[ Toothbrush in his mouth, Shouto tilts his head forward and to the side so that Izuku has more room if he wants it. It's nice, having this. He's happy. The happiest he'a been since he was a kid, none the wiser for what his future had in store for him. So now that he's had this, it's so easy to give it back, and even to initiate it.
Although it's a little unfair that he's getting kisses when he can't give them back. Also, conversatiins are harder to hold, so all he does is hum, low and aoft at the back of his throat in answer, his left side warming up. ]
[He leaves some gentle kisses across the plane of Shouto's back, and steps right behind Shouto, wrapping his arms around his husband's (his husband) waist.]
[ The additional kisses and contact warms him further, to the degree that it's even obvious to him. It takes him a moment to do anything beyond set his free hand around one of his wrists, though, before he's finishing up. ]
[ Running his fingertips up from his wrist to his hand, feeling his knuckles and the lines of familiar scars, Shouto basks a little in this - something he never thought he'd get to have. It didn't even register him. His parents had a loveless marriage, and he was a product of that.
Now, he just marvels in the fact that Izuku is here, has been here for years. ]
I think that's probably the only way to fix my hair.
[There's a warmth between them that has nothing to do with Shouto's quirk. It's love and friendship and partnership and he wouldn't trade it for the world.
He hugs Shouto just a little tighter and laughs. Shouto's messy bedhead, and Izuku's one of the few people who's actually seen it in person. He's so cute, it's ridiculous.]
I don't know, we could probably try to comb it down.
[He says as he starts moving them towards the shower.]
[ There are moments where he thinks about this, about the fact that they almost weren't friends. Here they are, now, married and happy and partners. He absolutely would not trade this for anything, either.
... though, Shouto does look up at his bangs, puffing some air at his hair. It doesn't really do much to fix it. ]
It'd take a lot. [ But he goes anyways, content to be navigated along and into the shower. ]
[There was a chance that they could have never met. But here they are now, finally sharing their honeymoon together and he couldn't be happier.
He laughs softly as he watches Shouto try to fix his hair.]
More than just blowing at it.
[It doesn't take them long before they're in the warm spray of water. Izuku's poured some shampoo into his hands after they've been in there a few minutes.]
[ Their honeymoon far, far away from the media. If they manage to dig this hotel up, off in the middle of nowhere in nice, rural peace and quiet... Shouto will actually set them on fire.
As is, there are no thoughts of fire as he hums, listens to Izuku. ]
Yeah, yeah.
[ Hup, down he goes. At least he doesn't collapse forward, but Shouto's had years to perfect existing while still mostly asleep. ]
Because he tilts into Izuku's hands immediately. ]
'm getting there. [ He can hold conversations, which is a huge improvement from when they have to get out the door at seven. The added hours of sleep, with Izuku's comforting presence, have done wonders for his consciousness. ]
[This isn't a routine they usually have time for, but it's nice. Not being in a rush, not needing to be anywhere. The whole day is theirs to do whatever they want with.]
[ Lifting his head up enough to nose at him, Shouto swoops some of Izuku's bangs off his forehead. ]
I don't know how you do it. [ He kisses his forehead now that he can see it, keeping his hand in his hair. He loves that he can bask in this, even with how unusual it is. ] Guess that's why you're sunshine.
[He smiles at the kiss and leans up to steal a proper one from Shouto.]
If I can help you then I'm glad to. Even if it's just with waking up. [Even if he has no idea how he manages to wake Shouto up when he's so dead to the world for so long.]
[ The kiss makes something warm pool in his stomach, and Shouto almost follows after him. But he manages to stop, dropping his hand down to thumb along the pulse in his neck. ]
You make it a lot easier to wake up. [ Which means every single day from now on will be easier. ]
I'm happy. [To help. To be married. About everything in their lives right now.] My life is much better with you in it, Shouto. Let's wake up together from now on.
[ If Shouto could, he would bottle up all of Izuku's smiles. How can one person look like they're a sunbeam incarnate?
He squints his eye shut to avoid getting shampoo in it, but doesn't make any attempt to move away from Izuku. Not when he can stand right there, close and content. ]
My life's been better ever since I met you. I didn't think it would keep getting better, but it has. So I think I like the sound of that.

Of course, Shoucchan.

It's a promise. We've made our vows. I'm always at my best with you by my side.
