[ At first, all he can do is bite his lip to try and quell the burn at the back of his throat, the threat of actual tears instead of just getting teary-eyed. Kageyama hates crying, gets angry with himself every time he feels it well up in him, but right now all he can focus on is Hinata's words, even if he calls him an idiot. All he can really take in is the grasp on his hands, and he squeezes just as tightly.

His hands weren't made for the life of an aristocrat - he's calloused from practicing his swordsmanship and climbing trees and buildings, and it's all been built up even more to reflect the ones that Hinata has, from his life on the streets and through the marketplace stalls, from climbing just as high as the prince has.

They fought a lot, at first, but god if they didn't just click before long, where they were communicating in an unspoken language, aware at every point where their newfound other half was. Natsu helped a great deal in all of this - Tobio loves her with every fiber of his being, wants to comb out her fluffy hair when she's having a hard time sleeping and he's still awake with her brother's face mashed into his shoulder. He wants to carry her on his shoulders again, swing her back and forth by the hands between him and Hinata. He wants to run through the market holding Shouyou's hand, bickering with him while laughing in the same breath.

All he wants is that starry sky, accompanied by hushed whispers and heads bowed together. Not even the softest bed in the empire could make up for cold nights spent nesting beneath that sky.

So, with a deep breath, he starts taking steps back towards the balcony, planning on bringing Hinata with him as he goes, mind working.
] I ran away without taking anything with me the first time. C'mon.

[ All the wealth in the world at his disposal, and Kageyama thinks maybe he can use it for their benefit this time. ]
