aka sisi and snow have no lives and too many sports.

there'll be a first meeting starter later
He's never yelled at his parents before in his life, but the moment they had told him - doesn't this just prove that we were right, Keiji? he's a delinquent, a tramp, a nobody. you shouldn't be spending your time with him, not when you have your future to look forward to - he had felt the anger rising like a wave in him. The way it had crashed had been explosive, and the repercussions had been swift.
But Akaashi had still left the estate, despite the disapproval from his parents, their shouts echoing behind him, the sting of his cheek. He had gone to the bank and withdrawn the money from his own savings, and he had gone to the station.
And here he is, now. Though his priority is Bokuto, he manages to barter with the man at the desk so that he can get both him and Kuroo out without being extorted out of more money. His name carries weight, even if his adamant refusal to leave without both of them out of the drunk tank confuses many of the people. He's rewarded more than once by family friends casting suspicious looks his way, but he ignores them, ignores their eyes landing on his still smarting, red cheek from the resounding slap that was the parting gift from his mother. If he can refuse his parents, then he can refuse these people, too.
Especially when it comes to Bokuto. He's certain that his parents would find a way to send them away on trump charges, just to keep Akaashi away from them, from him. The thought terrifies him, because not only would he never see him again, he knows that they would separate Bokuto from Kuroo, and that's just promising a decline into depression.
He can't let that happen, so he stands there, overseeing the officer as he unlocks the drunk tank. (Kuroo hums, almost absently, to Bokuto - "Looks like your beau came to save us~" - from inside, and Akaashi pretends not to hear it.) Kuroo emerges first, smiling lazily at the officer, but then he immediately steps aside for his cellmate.
Akaashi twists his fingers together, anxious but relieved. ] Bokuto-san.
i have no good icons LMAO
it's akaashi. akaashi is all he can think about sitting here.
bokuto rarely thinks about the consequences to his actions. he is loud, over the top, exuberant and moody as all hell in most things--the human form of a wrecking ball. but since he met akaashi (in passing, on the street, struck by how absolutely mind blowingly knee quakingly earth shatteringly beautiful he was) bokuto's been trying. that's the best he can do most days, is try. with his moods, with his temper, with his everything--all he can do is try for akaashi. this? this wasn't trying. this was fucking up, and it was that that had bokuto uncharacteristically quiet and slumped against kuroo, starting off on a bad spiral down towards one of his more depressed mood swings.
but then, kuroo humming in his ear is what gets his attention, and it's like everyone else in the room falls away. there's akaashi--he came for him anyway, he's there, he doesn't hate him, and his face--
bokuto bounds across the cell boundary before the cop can even get out his "don't do that again" lecture and hurries to akaashi. but the hug that would typically be huge and probably lift akaashi straight off his feet isn't that--it's bokuto dropping onto him, wrapping his arms around his shoulders and squeezing tight, breathing out-- ] Akaashi.
like I have a variety of faces at all
Bokuto makes him actually feel alive. The monotony of his life was completely flipped on its head the moment that he'd decided to approach him, and his world feels like it's finally full of color. There's no way that he would change anything about the way things are, now, save for removing the factor that is his parents' meddling. Though they aren't... officially anything more than close friends, Akaashi has had serious thoughts about eloping recently. But that would mean that Bokuto would have to reciprocate those feelings, and while he's fantastic at reading his moods, he's affectionate with everyone that he considers a friend.
He doesn't know if the affection he shows Kuroo - who has gone off to get their things - is different from the affection that he's given.
As Bokuto practically drops on him, he braces for his weight easily, wrapping his arms around his barrel chest and digging his fingers into the back of his shirt. It's a far more desperate hug than normal, from both ends, and a part of Akaashi thinks this gives him a decent answer about their feelings. ] I'm sorry I didn't come sooner. If I had known last night, I would have come then.
but he's so beautiful
losing him in any way would hurt so much; losing him because of his own fuck up would be even worse.
it would seriously take a crowbar to pull bokuto away from akaashi. literally, metaphorically, what have you. he will fight tooth and nail to keep him, keep seeing him, keep making him smile that warm, perfect ethereal smile he gets every now and then that makes bokuto want to start--doing backflips or something, it's that powerful. when he does let go, after a solid few seconds, a muttered "no, it's okay, shut up", bokuto pauses.
and that's when he sees his face. ] Akaashi--[ the look on bokuto's face goes from nothing to thunder in about three seconds. ] Who--what--I'll kick their asses, what, are you okay?!
[ not something to be yelling in a police station bokuto ]
and bokuto is... goofy and handsome in spades
Well, he can. But he'd rather not think about it, or arranged marriages, pristine parties that don't matter except for social gain and the flaunting of wealth.
He looks down and aside, away from Bokuto, heaving a sigh. But without looking, he brings his hand up, gently placing his fingertips against Bokuto's lips to quiet him. It's definitely not something they want the police to be hearing, especially when they're split in two on whether they like their frequent guest or not. ]
Don't worry about it, Bokuto-san. It's fine. [ It was worth it, is what it sounds like he's saying. And as he looks back up at him - Bokuto is not that much taller than him, a handful of centimeters at best, but he's always just so much bigger when he's riled up - there's still a spark, like a fight just waiting to happen, in all that quiet stoicism. ]
something like that.
I swear, I'll-- [ but. akaashi puts his fingers over his mouth and he pauses, snapping his jaw shut and looks frustrated, lips drawn into a line as it's not just the motion that quiets him, but the fire in akaashi's voice. the passion and warmth and all of these things that bokuto riles in him. he wonders how everyone in the world is not fucking head over heels for akaashi keiji, because it's impossible not to be, when you get to see this side of him. get to know what he's about, what makes him tick. what he wants versus what his parents want.
(but, bokuto doesn't want to share those feelings with anyone. his own are loud and obnoxious and there, but the idea of saying them makes him want to vomit, so he doesn't; he just hopes the rest of the world won't wise up fast enough to how perfect akaashi is. if they do, well, bokuto can make a pretty decent attack dog--unless akaashi would be happy that way. though he likes not to think about that. talk about something that makes him want to vomit.)
he strokes his thumb over his cheek one last time, before pulling away and reaching up to wipe at his mouth. ] Keh... Let's just go.
something very like that
So he does, as he calms him with his own gentle touch and easy words. Because he doesn't want Bokuto to be questioned again, to be put back in the drunk tank. He wants his passion and his energy and all that loud, exuberant life in him free. The idea of him being locked away somewhere, in worse ways than Keiji had been locked away before he met Bokuto, makes him feel ill. Bokuto Koutaro is the one who brought his own passion out, freed it. ]
Kuroo-san has probably left with your things by now. [ As Bokuto pulls away, he almost tries to follow after his hand. But he holds himself still, contenting himself with the lingering warmth against his cheek that doesn't come from the sting of his mother's slap.
Fidgeting with his fingers again, threading them together and twisting them in nervous, idle habit, he slowly tilts his head to look aside. Hopefully Bokuto just thinks he's looking off to the entrance. ] Could I come with you?
no subject
but, instead of admiring akaashi again, he catches his question, tilting his head. with the mark on his cheek, bokuto's not dumb enough to not know what must have gone down before he came here, and for a brief moment, he just softens, his mouth falling into a little frown and eyes melting, just a touch. ]
Yeah. [ yeah, of course. it lasts just a second before he brightens again, immediately throwing an arm companionably (companionably?) around akaashi's shoulders. ] Are you kidding, duh you can come with! You've gotta let me make you dinner or something since you bailed my ass out!
Hey, bye, mister cop! See you later maybe! [ please stop instigating, bokuto. he throws the policeman a huge grin over his shoulder and starts leading akaashi out into the warm night. ]
no subject
The look that Bokuto gives him, though, his eyes turn away again as if he's regarding the officers and station around them. Keeping an eye on things, as it were, when in reality he just can't stand to see that look on Bokuto's face. It's proof that he's far more perceptive than people give him credit for, but it just makes him think about how Bokuto knows what's happening, how his relationship with his parents is falling apart.
At least they move on pretty quickly, and Akaashi hooks his arm around Bokuto in return, hand between his shoulders. ]
Please stop instigating, Bokuto-san. [ He sighs the weariest of sighs, but then pats gently. ] That would be nice, though I would be happy enough to just go with you - you've never showed me where you and Kuroo-san and Kenma live, actually.
