[They've been doing singles for a year now, at twenty. Today isn't exactly an Olympics level tournament, but only one of them's signed themselves up for it. It's a local competition, nothing too fancy.
But he spots Todoroki in the crowd and immediately brightens. He might be his rival, but more importantly than that, Todoroki Shouto is his best friend.
He makes his way over past the crowds and grabs Shouto's hand, pulling him into the prep room.]
[ While Shouto has no problem skating in local competitions, likes doing it, he decided to pass on this particular one so that he could focus on his personal training for the next big competition. It doesn't mean, however, that he's going to completely skip out on it.
Izuku is competing today, after all. He wouldn't miss that.
And he certainly doesn't miss his friend coming out of nowhere to lead him off by the hand. He doesn't even bat an eye, though, and instead allows him to be pulled along and into the prep room, the corner of his mouth quirking a little. ]
[ Izuku is one of the few people that can manage to get a proper, real smile out of him, and that's never been a secret. But right now, the small quirk of one is replaced by surprise, his head inclining slightly even as his eyebrows raised. Acknowledgement to go with the surprise.
And he doesn't bother letting go of Izuku's hand still, fingers curled with his. ]
[Izuku's grin is already huge. He tugs their intertwined hands to his own chest, making sure Shouto's hand is against him. For the moment he lets his eyes close.]
Absolutely to you! My best friend and my favorite rival.
[And the person he's fallen for so completely, that's what he hopes to convey with this program. With every step sequence and jump, he wants how much he loves Shouto to be clear to everyone watching. Especially Shouto, who can occasionally be oblivious.]
