[He leans into the hands, he has nowhere to go and nowhere else he wants to be other than in Shouto's care.

I think we'll be great together. A smile comes across their newfound bond.

He can't be sure of how strong the bond between them will grow- but Shouto's the first person who clicked with him. And he's grateful to have a witch who can hear him.

I was wondering though, why did you pick me? He doesn't exactly fit the image of a Todoroki familiar.]

I hope so. [ For as much as he wants to spite his father, he also wants to get stronger. He wants to be a powerful witch, and he wants to use that power to... help people, is what he said when he was a kid. Like the famous witches who did good in the world.

Maybe he'll be able to say that, now.

But for now, he thinks over that question before he answers. Fuyumi's familiar is an outspoken fox that balances out her nerves, so he isn't the only one with a smaller sized familiar.

Definitely one that's not sleek looking, though. Or powerful looking. ]

[Midoriya isn't nearly as calm, but he's curious, kind. Maybe he can help Shouto in some way.

I didn't know what to expect. [ Fuyumi told him it was supposed to vary from pair to pair. Their father told him you felt powerful. He hasn't had the heart to see his mother, especially for guidance. His brothers wouldn't be of any help, either.

But this... makes him feel grounded. Not calm, necessarily, since he learned calmness to control his magic, but. Settled. ]

It's a little different for everyone.

Shouto's magic feels warm to him, something he'd be content to be nurturing, happy to be amplifying, even in such a short time- he thinks this will be good for them both.]

Mm. [ Shouto rubs his thumbs over the top of his head, along his velvety soft ears. He's small, and he'll probably hear grief over that given his father's familiar, but he doesn't care. ] I felt that.

[ Because this will stick it to him, but, also, it's the one thing that's felt right in a long time. Something warm and gentle, a guiding point in a way. ] I think we'll be good partners.

[He nuzzles into Shouto's hand. There have been plenty of people that passed over him because he's small, not powerful looking in the least- he's heard it all.

But Shouto's special, there's something clicking comfortably into place between them.

I'm glad. What do you want to do with your magic?]

I want to get stronger. [ Because that's true. Shouto is honest to a fault, even to the point of being cutting sometimes, and if they're going to be partners... well, he needs to know.

But he has the faint memory of his mother, of watching the news and seeing the good that was done in this world. ]

... and I want to help people with it.

[He butts his head against Shouto's hand in a show of solidarity.]

We'll help as many people as we can. It's a promise.
