[They're always so excited to see him- it's flattering and intimidating at the same time- not he's told anybody about that second part. He hasn't let any of them down so far, but he can't help worrying- he's a chronic worrier.

He taps his pen against the desk a few times as he considers USJ.]

That's probably for the best. They need to get used to using their quirks freely first. Will you be coming down with us like last time?

[ Considering the fact he feels like he's pretty bad with people, teenagers? Teenagers are kind of terrifying. He wouldn't blame Izuku if he confessed to being intimidated by them and their excitement.

But Shouto thinks they're easier to deal with than the media, so. ]

If you want me to. I can keep my schedule open for it pretty easily, and it seemed to help with the last batch.

[Izuku doesn't particularly like dealing with the media, but nobody can deny he's good with them.]

I like having you there. The kids seem a little calmer with you there. Plus we'll be able to use more of the USJ simultaneously with more teachers.

[No, the kids are watching the both of them like hawks, trying to figure out if they're a couple or not.]

[ Both the media and teenagers gossip and ask questions, but at least the teenagers don't stick microphones in his face and get too invasive. Only slightly, until someone reminds them it's not appropriate to hound their teachers. ]

It was pretty easy to monitor the fire and mountain rescue simulations with me there, and they do act a little calmer when we work together...

[ Well, that's not wrong. They're just dissecting everything, though. ]

[The teenagers can be dissuaded very easily, the media not quite.]

[They're both busy, between teaching and heroics.]

[ Tell them something, or give them something to do, and they're easier to distract. The media... not so much on that one. ]

If I can help, I'll help. Besides, maybe it'll mean you'll actually get some sleep for once if I'm around.

[ You never know. ]

I get sleep.

[Not... much of it, considering, but.]

Do you? You're usually as busy as I am.

I get slightly more sleep than you, considering I don't think about worse case scenarios on the regular.

[ And that's what counts, right? Once he's asleep, he's usually out like a light unless something external wakes him up. ]

That's still not enough sleep.

[But he should definitely do something about his own sleep schedule- which he will.]

[ Shouto looks at him with one eyebrow cocked, the definition of his quiet amusement. ]

You just admitted you don't get enough sleep.

I did.

[That won't stop him about fussing over Shouto though.]

I'll call you tonight, I promise.

[icyhot]

[ Still, he walked into it, and that's all that matters to him. It at least means he can gently bully him into taking better care of himself, even if it means he'll get fussed over, too. ]

All right. And don't work through your lunch period - it's not just for the kids, Midoriya.

Don't worry, I'll go. [At least hunger is something he doesn't ignore.]

You too, Todoroki. I've seen you work through them.

[ That one he's a little more reluctant to agree on, because he only eats when he registers that he's hungry - and sometimes, you get so distracted that you forget you're hungry. ]

I'll set a reminder to make sure.

[Izuku's known Shouto for a decade, at least. He doesn't miss that hesitation.]

If I need to sleep better, you need to eat better.

[icyhot]

[ They're too good at this. They know so much about one another, it's good that one of them isn't a villain. ]

We'll keep an eye on one another, then.

It's a promise.

[The bell rings- and Izuku's scrambling to get all his things into a bag.]

Ah- I'll call you!

[As he sprints down a hallway.]

[ He nods - a promise with Izuku is binding.

But then, when the bell rings, he straightens up and uncrosses his arms as he looks at the time. Shouto doesn't have a homeroom this year, so he doesn't have to rush off, himself. Which means he can amble off to planning and talking with the rest of the staff as a backup if necessary.

It also means he won't be around for Izuku's reaction to discovering what he left him, but that's fine. ]

[It's a new batch of freshman, who are all eager and excited, well, he can't blame them. This is UA, after all, both All Might and him graduated here. It's the most competitive in the country.

It's been a while, since his first year, he's good at handling the kids, calm voice, gentle instructions. He's pulling double duty as both their heroics and science professor this year.

Still, he's drained by the time he gets back to the teachers lounge and slowly realizing that he did not, in fact, remember to bring lunch. And yet, there it is, a bowl of katsudon on his table.

He's not sure what he did to deserve this, but the other teachers who are around, see him quietly crying over his luck as he eats his lunch. Though absolutely nobody will tell him where it came from.]

[ The only reason he even finds out is through word of mouth.

Shouto indulges students when he runs into them with conversations, answers to questions, promises that his lessons will come in due time. Being effectively in reserve makes it easier for him, in terms of having time to plan, but also leaves him planning for more than one set of students.

And they're all really, really beightbeyed and excited.

But someone mentions that Deku was crying in his lunch in passing, when there aren't so many students flocking him in the hall, and he can't help but go check it out.

His concern dies down when he sees him, and he huffs softly before walking in. ]

[It's a well known fact that Izuku's emotional, and a small good thing, if it's unexpected, can make him start crying.

He's eating his mysteriously gifted lunch, with a smile and a thank you to whoever was kind enough- and paid this much attention to him.

Once he spots his friend, he wipes away the tears.]

Todoroki, somebody left me lunch- I forgot mine and I thought I'd need to go out but- I wish I knew who it was so I could thank them.

[icyhot]

[ Ah, so his suspicion was right. No surprise, there, though. First day of school? Fresh new group of young eggs? Yeah, Shouto figured he might have forgotten to pack his lunch. But knowing one another's orders since they were their students' ages, it's easy for him to go and pick u kataudon from Izuku's favorite place.

It's only a little out of his way. It's worth it for the teary, bright smile. ]

I'm sure they can feel your gratitude, Midoriya. I actually came to make sure you were okay, someone mentioned you were crying in the lounge.

[fullcowl]

Ah- oh. [He laughs, and continues to rub away the tears.]

I guess word gets out fast, huh? Sorry I worried you, Todoroki. [Like they didn't do their fair share of worrying in the morning already.]

Still, I'd like to thank them in person, if I can.

I'm just glad it's a good crying. [ Many of their friends have just accepted that Izuku is quick to cry. Literal years ago, even. Shouto still feels some distress every now and then when he cries, when it's not with a smile attached, but.

This is a good way to be the reason your crush cries.

And yet he won't tell him it was him that did it. ]

Maybe you will someday.

I'm just... I'm just really grateful. I've had a lot on my mind since last night. [All the possible bad endings because he makes himself into a ball of stress and worry.]
