[ There's no shortage of people in their neighborhood, even with their house being one of the biggest in the area. But people either turn a blind eye, or don't realize what's happening in their own communities a lot of the time. His mother is sent away, and no one knows why, except that the youngest son of the Flame Hero Endeavor has been hurt. But he's always hurt, it seems like, and no one thinks to question it. Boys will be boys, getting in trouble and skinning their knees. After all, his older brothers are always getting into scuffles, bruised and scratched up and having the times of their life. Why not the youngest boy, too?
On his best days, that could probably be a viable excuse.
On the worst days, though, are like the ones where the new neighbor sees him.
Shouto blinks his visible eye at her, a dark bruise making him look like a panda with an eyepatch. He brings a hand up, swiping his thumb under his nose to check and see if it's still bleeding - it is - before he shrugs his shoulder. Only one, though. He's trying not to disturb his other arm that much. ]
I never get taken to the hospital. We usually have a doctor come by, since my father pays them.
[Izuku is too observant and she doesn't know who Shouto's father is. She's heard of him alright, but she doesn't know who they've moved in next to. And as far as she's concerned Shouto needs to go to the hospital- She winces as she tries to hold back her tears.]
Well they didn't do a very good job! We should go right now. It's only a couple blocks away a-and- And you look like you could really use it.
They haven't shown up today. I don't think he's called them yet. [ There's some bitterness to his voice, but then Shouto looks at her, blinking in obvious surprise when he sees how wet her eyes are. Why is she tearing up over him? He doesn't know how to respond to that, but - can he really argue that point? He knows his nose isn't broken, but he thinks his arm might be.
He didn't call them yet... He should have called straight away! [She tears up because she cares immensely over everybody. Especially people who look that bad off.
She'll start walking towards the hospital, double checking her side and making sure Shouto's following her.]
He only does that sometimes. [ Calling them right away, that is. It depends on the injury he sustains during training. But Shouto falls into step with her, looking back over his shoulder towards his sprawling home every now and then like he expects his father to slam open the door right away to come marching after him.
When there's no sign of him, and they're about to leave the neighborhood, is when he finally answers. ]
It's been like this for years. [ Shouto is candid in the admission, even if the bitterness is still there. There's a lot of acid in one, young boy, all of it for his own father.
Why is he even telling this girl about his father's abuse? It's not like she can do anything, even if she's leading him off to the hospital.
Will they even believe what he's done to him, if he told them? She seems to, even if there's obvious disbelief towards the concept itself. ]
[Izuku might not be able to be a hero without a quirk of her own, but damn it, there's still things she can do. Like force this boy to go to the hospital.
If she tells her mom, she'll definitely believe her over anybody else.]

She reaches out and stops herself before putting her hand on his shoulder. It's impossible to tell exactly how badly he's hurt.]
He did this to you? Nobody should ever look like this because of their parent...
