No quest just meant that the starting point was a little different than he'd anticipated, and he had no problems with that. Especially when it resulted in he and Haruichi embarking on a journey together, learning one another, experiencing things together. Maybe people disapproved of that - the head mage among them, but he kind of gets it, considering Haruichi is one of his important people and it's hard to watch them leave, under their own power or not - but, well, it's turned out just right in the end.
Haruichi can see again, the curse broken. Furuya's a little more battered and scarred than he was at the start, but he's breathing. They're together, and the witch is gone. That's all that matters, isn't it?
So he has no troubles, stopping more often now than they had at the start. It lets Haruichi see what he's been missing out on, and it's given Furuya a chance to experience the world in a different light, with the wonder and awe that he wears so openly as he takes in the vibrance that he'd missed for so long now.
No hesitation comes when he reaches his own hand for Haruichi's in return, long, calloused fingers brushing the slender ones held out for him. They've held hands numerous times in the past, or Haruichi has taken his arm for him to guide him. That much is normal, even if it's always caused his heart to stutter and start in his rib cage like a fluttering bird, but now.
Now it feels like something else, as he threads their fingers together and lets him lead the way. ] However far you want to go is okay with me, Kominato-kun.
