[ The life of an idol is certainly an... interesting one. The Todorokis aren't any strangers to show business - his parents met because his mother was a musician and his father was... well, Endeavor. He figures that alone speaks volumes of his heritage and how entrenched he is in all this.
But it'd be easy for him to say that he hates it, on a regular basis. Not enough to leave it - he loves it, also, enjoys the performing aspect and the creative one, the outlet where he can sing and dance. But he doesn't like the media, and he's not particularly fond of his father's iron fist, but he's come up with ways to rebel against that and make his own name for himself.
Which is why this is happening, probably.
Shouto looks up from where he's seated on the floor, his bicolored hair held off his forehead by a thin, elastic headband. He's meant to be practicing right now, and while he did do his warmups and a quick run through, he'd slipped away to grab a drink and scroll through his phone. People usually leave him alone when he isolates himself to a corner, especially when he's near an entrance - he's been known in recent months to just up and leave, sometimes, with an exasperated sigh.
(Fuyumi's been trying to get him to work on his temper. She's claimed more than once that she's certain he's steamed in the past, so. Walk away, instead of say what comes to mind.
It only works sometimes.)
Taking a drink from his sports bottle, he looks Midoriya up and down, before lowering it so he can speak. ]
[He nods, over Todoroki. He's probably been working hard if he's taking a break like this. Considering his usually packed work life, he's not too surprised to find him resting. Sure, Todoroki isn't great with the media, but he figures it's not for everybody. Honestly, Shouto's had a much more media filled life, it's no wonder he's sick of it.]
I am. I'm Midoriya Izuku.
[He bows slightly, not sure what else to do with himself.]
I've been told we're doing Mattete Ai no Uta together?
[ Getting up as he bows, Shouto dusts himself off and sets the bottle back in his bag before considering him thoughtfully. Apparently he's really getting to be popular now? He can sort of see the appeal, he guesses, as he tilts his head thoughtfully. Maybe there's an earnest, boy next door kind of look to him that a lot of idols don't necessarily have.
Or, at least the ones that his father prefers him to interact with. So of course he'll go out of that box when the occasion arises, just to irritate the asshole. ]
Todoroki Shouto. [ Because he prefers being able to introduce himself, pointless as it is. Has always been. ] Yeah. Normally not my first choice, but apparently it suits our ranges and would be a good song to test our compatibility with.
[His popularity is a slow build, and he's not sure how long it'll last, but still, he's grateful.
Though being looked over like this makes him a little nervous. He doesn't have to look Todoroki over to know the image he's portrayed to the media, some rough bad boy type. Is he supposed to balance that out?]
I'm looking forward to working with you, Todoroki-kun.
I didn't think my first duet would be a love song. Um... you didn't have a lot of them in your work history either. But I'll definitely do my best to make it good!
