[It's been a long few years at Yuuei, and he wouldn't trade it for the world. They've grown up and become heroes in their own right without being pros just yet. They're the people that the public can depend on to be there for them.
But they're also just people at the end of the day. It's going to be another month or so until they're officially added to the hero registry, which means time to themselves.
So after graduation hits, Izuku looks for Todoroki.]
I want to go on a road trip. A little holiday before we really start in the business.
[ It's... interesting, realizing that they've finally made it. After everything they've been through, and everything they've done and seen. The League of Villains certainly made their lives hell, but they survived, and the years at Yuuei are over.
Surreal is probably a good word for it.
But amidst all the well wishes and congratulations and the "holy shit, we made it" that at least five people have said to him since the ceremonies, it's easy for Shouto to spot Izuku.
And he blinks at him, still subtle in his mild expressions, but the surprise is obvious to anyone that knows him. ]
A road trip? [ A beat, then: ] I think I'd like that.
[Izuku has a startlingly easy time working with almost anybody. Just give him a few seconds to formulate a plan, and he can come up with something that uses his whole team's strengths.
But when it comes to Shouto, there's something even easier about that partnership. There's a level of implicit and deep trust that he doesn't get from anybody else.
So the choice of who to ask along the road trip was clear from the very beginning.
His grin is blinding once he's agreed.]
I'm looking forward to it. We'll leave in two days, if that works for you?
[ Likewise, Shouto's gotten better about working with other people over the years. There are still some where he has an easier time of collaborating with them - Iida, Yaoyorozu - compared to others, but the familiarity he has with Izuku makes it so that some days, they don't even have to speak to be on the same level.
Nevermind the fact that he was honestly his first real friend. You can't just erase that, or the feelings that build up over the years because of it and the experiences that follow.
So something twists in his chest in response to that grin, his left side heating up, and he ducks his head in a nod. ]
That's fine. It gives me time to pack things up, and talk to my mother about what she might like me to bring her.
[Shouto's smiles are rare but that makes Izuku savor them all the more. It's nice to know you can make your friends smile- especially ones like Todoroki.
He trusts him completely, after all. Years of working with him in school and on the field does that. Shouto might not be his first friend, but he feels like maybe he's the deepest friendship he's made over the years.]

Great. I'll get to packing when I get home too.
