[ It goes without saying that Souji doesn't really want to go back home with his parents. He's felt a stronger connection with the Dojimas and his friends here, in Inaba, than he has in his parents in the past sixteen years. This year in Inaba has been the best in his life, despite the murders and near death experiences, all of the struggles they've been through. But the bonds he has with his friends... well, they're lasting.
And leaving is necessary, but he's going to miss all of them.
So he's more than happy to spend time with Kanji, when he sets something up. He could note a nervous strain in the exchange, however, so he makes a point to arrive a little early himself. Not nearly as early as Kanji, which is made apparent as he comes up to their favorite hangout overlooking the river, but early enough that he won't be waiting long.
One hand in his pocket, he raises the other, a smile on his face. ] Hey, Kanji.
[he had been fretting about presenting souji-senpai with the quilt that he hadn't... quite been paying attention to his surroundings and, welp! senpai is here now! he quickly hides the bag behind his back and gives a panicked wave at the other.] O- Oh, uh, hey there senpai! Sure didn't see ya there, nope. You weren't waitin' long for me, were ya?
[ Rather than drawing attention to the bag, or Kanji's behavior, because Souji likes teasing his friends but he doesn't like outright embarrassing them, he just lets out a soft laugh and gives him a fond smile. There's no one quite like Kanji in the world - which he's thankful for, but it means he knows just how much he'll miss him. ]
Not at all. [ Pretending it's not obvious Kanji was here first. ] What's up?
OH... uh, n- nothin much!!! Tryin' to get some last minute shit taken care of before the new term starts, you know. [he looks at the other nervously.] Sooooo, I uh.... I didn't have time to wrap this or anything, 'cuz I wanted to make sure this got to you before you left so... Uh, do ya mind closin' your eyes, senpai?
