she fell in love in the first place

For the life of me, I cannot remember
What made us think that we were wise
And we'd never compromise
For the life of me, I cannot believe
We'd ever die for these sins
We were merely freshmen

Anita was of the opinion that she had a whole lot of fun -- just a different flavor. Of course, it was hard to explain to Lis exactly what it was her family did on weekends and around full moons. It was difficult to not be able to explain such an integral part of your life with your best friend, but the fact of the matter was that she spent enough time with pack that even if she did have a broader social circle among her classmates, she would have been overstimulated and exhausted.

Seriously. Being the alpha's kid was pretty time-consuming sometimes. She imagined it would only be more demanding if she had fur and fangs.

She grinned, not having any interest in turning Lis away from the topic of discussion for the time being. "Hey, if the opportunity comes around, I just might have to let you give me some pointers after all."

She'd still skip the hands-on lessons, though. No offense, Lis.

See, Lis was used to Anita being busy with her family all the time. She didn't get it, but her family and extended family weren't as close as Anita's seemed to be. It was kind of weird, but she adored Anita's dads and the other relatives she'd met over the years were nice, so she didn't mind it. Even if she sometimes wondered whether their frequent family game nights were cult-related.

Okay, so in a way, she was envious. But in a good way.

"That better be the first thing you do." She was super serious. "Or at least call and give me all the details after."

If only Lis were the only person in Beacon Hills who thought all their family togetherness was cult-related. It really didn't help that Stiles actively told people that it was. That was some quality sheriffing right there.

"Please, as if I'd ever do anything like that without reporting to you immediately afterwards. Who else would I tell? Or more specifically, who else would I tell that would actually want to know? I know you've got a questionnaire somewhere, ready to whip out the minute you need me to rate a touchy-feely experience."
