[ Being an only child, she can't quite find sympathy here. But she can respect that he wants to defend his brother, and instead shrugs at him before she opens her locker to go through it. Depositing her alcohol and washrags, she retrieves her books and swaps them out. ]

Oh yeah, he and Killian would be good buddies. Or they'd be in detention together sporting black eyes because they wound up being too alike.

[ There's a few other people that come to mind, but she's not sure whether they would present a problem for Sam or not. He's young and new to the school, and he sort of... has something about him that makes him stand out.

But he's overall unassuming otherwise. ]

I wouldn't be surprised either way, to be honest.

[He glances at the stack of books she's swapping out before tilting his head. She's had a rough first day, as far as he can tell. It can't hurt to be nice.]

[ A faint sound amusement escapes Cassie at that, but she's more focused on making sure that everything is in order in her locker. She's had more than one instance of having it broken into, which has lead to her keeping all her things in her bag with her if it's valuable to her. Her sketchbook is one of those things, for sure. Especially since it's got her visions tucked away in it.

Looking at him, she seems to consider it. ]

You taking any of these classes? [ She offers him the books to investigate, if not carry. ]

[He accepts the books from her gingerly, turning them so he can read the spines. Whether she likes it or not, he'll probably hold on to them to carry, too.]

Yeah. World History and Algebra I.

[He figures that makes them both freshman.]

I'm supposed to stop by the library after school to pick up what I don't have. Hopefully whatever they've got is still usable.

[Textbooks that wound up in the library were usually beat, but that was the curse of being the new kid. He and Dean were always trailing just a little bit behind.]

Everything okay in there? Nothing's missing, right?

[ Honestly, the big thing is that Cassie still has no idea what to do with Sam Winchester right now. There's a handful of people that talk to her like a person, and treat her as such, but it's a pretty small handful. ]

Might see you there, then. [ She looks at her books, a little more worn. It's easier to get them that way than to get the newer ones, to be honest. Makes it less expensive to replace them when they're stolen, too. ] Anyone shown you where that is yet?

[ She looks away from her locker, closing the door after getting what she needs out of it. ]

Not today. So looks like they just felt like tagging and going.

[He shakes his head a little, showing no sign of handing her books back, but shifting his weight from one foot to the other as he prepares to follow her to wherever she's heading.]

Not yet. I've found my own way around so far, but this school is bigger than the last few I went to.

[He presses his lips together, disapproving.]
