[She's never experienced anything like that and it feels like her head is going to explode. She keeps her hands plastered over her ears--and if they might somehow help, or get them to shut up but it doesn't. In fact it almost seems to make it worse and it's only when Matt comes to her side that they seem to diminish a little--at least enough for her to realize she's been holding her breath.
