[It was not exactly bizarre that he found himself sitting at the campfire, poking and prodding at the fire with a stick as he waited for their food to cook. It also wasn't exactly bizarre that they somehow accumulated some of the most random stuff to throw into it.

At least by now he'd perfected wolf-mutton stew.]

[He looked around, briefly. Where was everybody, anyways? Al and Rise going so long without popping up didn't necessarily bode well... and when they and Matt were silent, well.

[A grumble from the studying mage and he turns a page, pushing his glasses up.]

[He mumbles an answer to Souji's question under his breath]

[And then suddenly, out of nowhere something small and black comes whizzing towards Matt's head. A very familiar slipper]

[Souji takes this moment to reach behind the log he's sitting on to put his warrior's helmet on, sighing through his nose as he does so.

It's gonna be a long night.]

[STOMPS ON OVER. PICKS UP SHOE AND PUTS IT BACK ON, THANK YOU VERY MUCH]

[Glances up from where he's checking the stew.]

If she did, then I promise I would replace it, and we'd definitely have to put an end to this.

[Wipes some of the dirt off his face and dusts his ~~dress~~robes off.]

[Glances at Souji and then to Rise. Somewhat of a deadpan expression and he holds his hand out. He wants his godamn powder back.]

Look, if you give it back, I won't cast the meteor spell again.

[she stole that fair and square so she really doesn't want to. If Souji wasn't around she probably wouldn't give it, but after eyeing him for a bit she just lets out a huff and pulls it out from ~~hammer space~~ somewhere in her shirt. She tosses it to him]

[Looking at the two of them with a slight smile, not questioning ~~Rise's hammer space~~ how everything Rise steals seems to come from her shirt, GLAD THAT THERE WASN'T ANY MORE TROUBLE--]

[He tips his helmet back a bit, looking in the direction the two of them had come from, frowning once again. Bad feeling, get.]

Al wasn't with you two, was he?

[Puts back up in his own robe!hammerspace and crosses his arms.]

No, he wasn't with me.

[Curious glance at Rise.]

[frown, but a concerned one this time before she shakes her head]

[Still frowning, but standing up now.]

Why do I always have a bad feeling when he goes missing?

[Well, he always worries when any of them go missing, but Elga be praised if Al going missing didn't signal trouble, and a lot of it.]

[Without a beat.]

Because trouble is Alfred's middle name.

[This is Matt summoning his staff.]

When was the last time anyone saw him?

Last time I saw him was when we split up. He took the east road...do you think he may have wandered onto Hero's Road?

[Reaches to grab his sword and sheath and replace them on his belt, shaking his head.]

I certainly hope not, but all things considered... As a 'hero,' I wouldn't be surprised if he took the name as a challenge.

[A facepalm that clearly is in agreement with Souji's thoughts.]

I really need to get promoted soon.

[This scenario is all too familiar, honestly. Still. It's worrisome because there's always the chance that this might be the time he doesn't make it through]

I'll race on ahead and see if I can find any signs of him.

[Gives Rise a nod, nudging at the dirt around the fire with the toe of his boot to put it out. Cold stew, or stew lost to monsters, is infinitely better than a lost Al.]

Steer clear of monsters if you can.

[Adjusts gloves before SHING! unsheathing sword.]

But if you find him before we catch up, and he needs the help...

[Another nod.]

[Nods with Souji to Rise. Uggh Alfred could be so troublesome sometimes, it was hard to believe they were twins.]

We'll be along as fast as we can.

Will do! [And she takes to the trees, gone as suddenly as when she first appeared, and racing, looking for any signs of where their fourth member had gone]

[Suddenly, the sound of thumping can be heard throughout the area. THUMP THUMP THUMP. Yeeeeeah. It's getting louder too. Oh, that might have been the sound of a tree falling back there at one point as well.]

[You may or may not hear Heroic laughter mixed in among the ominous noises.]

[... was that a tree? There's a long pause, before he shakes his head and moves to follow after Rise, glancing back at Matt with a faint smile.]

At least it's never boring with us.

[Except, at the rate they're going, he's going to be prematurely bald instead of grey.]

[Also a long pauses and Matt lets out a long, drawn out sigh, shaking his head.]

Nor sane.

[Rolls up his sleeves and matched in after them.]

[...well damn. Yea she's pretty sure she doesn't have to go back to direct the other two. They'd have to be deaf to miss that]

Ack, Al! What the hell are you doing? [she calls, vaguely making out his figure in the distance]
